Graduation Grams are back! Congratulate the seniors in your life by sending them a personalized message and a Yummy Lix lollipop. The cost is 50 cents each, and they are available for from Ms. Hand at ext. 2240 or chand@kgcs.k12.va.us, from May 16th-May 24th. They will be delivered on May 29th.
Did you know? STEM jobs have grown at a rate of three times the rate of non-STEM jobs in the past ten years? Interested students are invited to learn more about new STEM programs being offered by RCC and ODU. Sign up in the Counseling office to attend this informative video conference by Rappahannock Community College on May 18th.
Applications for the Octagon Club Scholarship are now available from Guidance or Ms. Hand. You must be a senior and an active Octagon member to be eligible. Applications are due by Wednesday, May 24.
On Thursday, June 7, 2012, we will be going to Busch Gardens Williamsburg in a comfy, air conditioned pair of buses. The fee for this day away is $65.00, and it does not included lunch or dinner, but we will provide bottled waters and snacks going and coming on the bus. Permission slips may be picked up at the main office, on Mrs. Merryman’s door, and in guidance.
On MONDAY, May 21, 2012, there will be a Chick Fil A picnic for seniors only on the library court yard as well as a photo of the class in the shape of a 12 taken from the roof. Be sure to be there. The rain date will be the following Monday if necessary.
KGHS PTSA PROPOSED SLATE FOR 2012-2013
KGHS Counseling department has partnered with Parrish Learning Zone in Fredericksburg, Virginia, to offer a 6-hour class ($69) and an 18-hour class ($279) at the high school this summer. Classes will be held on Mondays and Thursdays. There will be a pre-test for the 18-hour session on July 26, 2012. Sessions will start Monday, July 30, 2012. Checks should be made payable to Parrish Learning Zone.

Student/Parent Cheer Info Meeting: Wednesday, May 16th @ 5:30pm, KGHS Cafeteria.
Clinics — Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, May 21st, 22nd, 23rd. — 3:30 to 5:30pm, KGHS Gym.
Panel Tryout– Thursday, May 24th — 3pm until finished, KGHS Gym.
