If any student is interested in submitting work for the FCCA “Save As” online student art exhibit please submit any work to me in the art room:) The deadline to submit work will be Wednesday April 10th.

ART NEWS
- Students at KGMS are invited to participate in the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Kids Safe Online Poster contest.
-The top winning poster from Virginia will be submitted to the national Multi-State Cyber Security Awareness poster contest. The winning posters will be displayed in the 2014 National Stay Safe Online Calendar and may also be used in campaigns to raise awareness among children of all ages about internet and computer safety. The winning Virginia posters will be featured on our website.
-Attached are the official rules, entry form and information regarding the poster topics and technical specifications. The materials are also available on our website at http://vita.virginia.gov/security/default.aspx?id=11232
-The deadline for poster entry forms and posters is Thursday, December 20, 2012. Late entries will not be accepted. Winners will be notified by email. If you have questions or need assistance, please email CommonwealthSecurity@vita.virginia.gov

- The FCCA ( Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts) is having their semi annual online student art show. The deadline to submit work is Wednesday, November 14th.

- The VMFA ( Virginia Museum of Fine Arts) has invited KGCS Students for the first time to participate in the VMFA Scholastic Art and Writing Awards program.
-Any interested student should stop by the art room to pick up packets on how to submit work and what categories are accepted.
- The Deadline to submit work is Friday, January 4, 2013.
-Any interested student can stop by the art room for entry packets and if they have any questions just contact Miss Palina.

The Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) Visual Arts Contest
The CVC is having their annual giving campaign for state employees and requests that school divisions provide students with the opportunity to participate in the CVC Art contest. The CVC plans to showcase the winning artwork statewide in posters, on the CVC Website, and in a directory. Also the selected entries will be exhibited across the Commonwealth. The theme for this year’s giving campaign is “Virginia is for Givers.” Think about what this theme means to you and illustrate your interpretation by Friday, May 4th. A grand prize of $100 will be awarded to the winning student that is selected to create the campaign poster and there are also cash prizes for second and third place winners. All entries can be dropped off in the Art Room by May 4th and if anyone has any questions about this art contest feel free to stop by and ask me
TAG Art Show
The TAG Art show is Thursday April 26th from 6pm to 8pm on the second floor of the School Board Office. I hope to see everyone there!
